Who

Sarah and Deana

Tribe of Kismet's Sarah and Deana live and breathe ATS, and together they aim to promote the true spirit of this beautiful dance.

Sarah is the director of Kismet Bellydance Ltd (The Kismet School of Bellydance). Her dancing career spans three decades and covers everything from representing Britain in professional Latin American competitions worldwide, through teaching in Fred Astaire dance studios in the USA, to being a FatChanceBellyDance Sister Studio and Carolena Nericcio's UK representative charged with co-ordinating and promoting Carolena's activities and the original FatChance Bellydance format in Britain.

FatChanceBellydance-trained, Deana has been dancing ATS for five years and has been dancing with Sarah and Tribe of Kismet for three years. Also a FCBD Sister Studio, she teaches her own regular ATS classes for The Kismet School of Bellydance and assists Sarah with her ATS classes and in preparing the 'Tribe' for performance

What

The interaction between the dancers and the ability to improvise and make the dance different each time is what makes ATS such fun to do! Tribe of Kismet's Sarah and Deana will take you through the basic ATS formations, including the chorus formation, and show you the various ways you can cue rotations, lead changes and fades. It is these elements which enable the dancers to interact and and create unique and beautiful choreography 'in the moment'. THis workshop would be suitable for dancers with some experience of ATS and a nowledge of basic movements such as: Egyptian Basic; Arabic; Shimmy Step; Hip Bumps; Turkish Shimmy; Taxeem, Body Wave; Hand Floreo; and Arm Undulations, would be useful. Bring Zils if you have them!
